Where the company finds gaps, they develop processes to correct them. Next, these changes and processes must be fully documented. The company then conducts an internal audit to investigate if the changed processes are sufficient.
This audit process may involve checking documentation, testing processes, interviewing staff and other stress tests on the system. Secondly, if the organisation passes their internal audit, the next step is a full external audit, undertaken by an independent certification body.
