RPZ Valve Testing

It is a legal requirement to have Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) valves checked on a regular basis, at least yearly, to ensure they provide the backflow protection required. All installations, commissioning and testing must be carried out in accordance with Water Suppliers’ Approved Installation Method AIM-08-01. Testing must be carried out by a approved and registered RPZ valve tester, qualified in accordance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales).

All GCC’s in-house Water Management Technicians are fully compliant and accredited to City and Guilds RPZ Valve Testing. GCC’s RPZ technicians are registered on the Water Regs UK website .

Remote Monitoring

Temperature checking as part of an integrated legionella prevention strategy can also be automated using permanent, on-site monitoring and data-acquisition sensors supported by offsite data analysis and alarm functionality. This 24/7 monitoring provides a far more thorough overview of a hot and cold water system, allowing trend analysis that can identify potential failures before they occur.
